Trip Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival - Arusha - Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport Tanzania, an Image Travel representative will meet you and accompany you by private vehicle transfer to Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge. On bed and Breakfast Basis. Overnight at Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge.

Day 2 Fly Manyara, Transfer The Manor at Ngorongoro

This morning you will be transferred to Sasakwa Airstrip where you will fly Manyara airstrip on Coastal Aviation departing Sasakwa at 1030hrs to arrive Manyara airstrip at 1150hrs. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the beautiful Lake Manyara, a shallow alkaline lake that shimmers in a cleft in the Great Rift Valley. Enjoy lunch and check in at your lodge. Then later enjoy an afternoon game viewing in Lake Manyara National Park famous for its tree climbing lions. You’ll see plenty of baboons and elephants in the park’s thick evergreen forest, and watch for the tree climbing lions that have become famous throughout Africa. Thanks to the proximity of lake, forest and rock walls, the birdlife will also tease out your inner birder – don’t forget your binoculars. (Your stay includes all meals, drinks (premium drinks excluded), laundry service, transfers, game drives and scheduled activities). Later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at The Manor at Ngorongoro. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 3 Ngorongoro Crater - The Manor at Ngorongoro

After breakfast, an Elewana vehicle will drive you down the crater for a full day of exploration of the Ngorongoro Crater. A picnic hamper lunch will be served on the crater floor. After lunch, you will explore more of the crater before heading back to the Manor for SPA, also you will get a chance to visit Oldupai Gorge Museum there is where the first Mankind (Homo Habilis) remains were found, you will later head to the lodge,At sunset arrival at your accommodation inside the Ngorongoro conservation area. Evening cocktails, (Your stay includes all meals, drinks (premium drinks excluded), laundry service, transfers, game drives and scheduled activities). Dinner and overnight at The Manor at Ngorongoro. Day 4-5 Serengeti National Park - &Beyond Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp

After breakfast at Ngorongoro, we cross the Ngorongoro Conservation Area en route to Serengeti National Park. Your journey will take you past Olduvai Gorge, a fascinating archeological site. If you’d like, stop here and visit the museum. Once in the Serengeti, enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing on your game-viewing drive towards &Beyond Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp, where you’ll have dinner. On our next day Enjoy a full day of game viewing in the sanctuary with your Wildlife Safari guide. The Serengeti is world famous for its annual wildebeest and zebra migration, when nearly two million animals traverse the open plains in long columns, but the game viewing is amazing throughout the year. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are at &Beyond Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp. Day 6 Serengeti - Masai Mara National Reserve - &Beyond Superior View Tents

After breakfast at &Beyond Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp, transfer to the local airstrip and board your light aircraft. An exciting flight over the Serengeti will deliver you safely to Kenya, where you’ll clear customs and immigration before continuing to the Masai Mara. Make your way to &Beyond Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp for lunch, seeing wildlife along the way. After a late afternoon game drive, you’ll return to &Beyond Kichwa Tembo Superior View Tents for dinner and overnight.

Day 7-8 Masai Mara - Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp

Full day spent Exploring the park in search of the big 5 with a possibility of seeing the annual wildebeest migration that takes place from July to October. Optional hot air balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 500. The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. Day 9 Depart Maasai Mara, Fly Nairobi

Early morning game drive and latter return for breakfast at the Lodge. Check-out and then proceed to the airstrip with game viewing drive on the way. Upon landing in Nairobi you will be transferred to your Hotel or International Airport. Meal Plan: {Breakfast.

January

The herds are moving into the southern plains of the Serengeti, around Ndutu, Kusini, and Naabi. The short grasses here are rich in nutrients, preparing the females for calving.

February

This is the peak calving month. Hundreds of thousands of wildebeest calves are born, often within a few weeks of each other. This spectacle attracts a high concentration of predators, making it an excellent time for predator-prey sightings.

March

The calves are a few weeks old and growing quickly. The herds begin to spread out as they continue to graze on the southern plains, preparing for the long journey north.

April

The long rains begin, prompting the herds to start their movement northwest. They form long columns as they begin their trek through the central Serengeti.

May

The migration gathers momentum, with vast columns of wildebeest stretching for miles. The herds congregate in the Western Corridor, and the mating season, or "the rut," begins.

June

The dry season starts, and the wildebeest face their first major challenge: the Grumeti River. Thousands of animals must cross this crocodile-infested river, creating dramatic and intense encounters.

July

The herds continue their journey north, with many arriving in the northern Serengeti. The Grumeti River crossings are in full swing, and some of the first herds may begin to cross the even more treacherous Mara River.

August

This is one of the best months to witness the famous Mara River crossings. The herds are spread out across the northern Serengeti and the Maasai Mara, making multiple crossings back and forth over the river in search of greener pastures.

September

The river crossings continue, though the intensity may decrease. Large numbers of wildebeest are now grazing in the fertile plains of the Maasai Mara in Kenya.

October

As the dry season approaches its climax, the wildebeest start to slowly move back into the Serengeti from the Maasai Mara, heading east and south.

November

The short rains begin, signaling the herds to make a decisive move south towards the replenished plains of the eastern Serengeti. They make their way through the Lobo and Loliondo areas.

December

The wildebeest arrive back on the short-grass plains of the southern Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. They are widely dispersed, feeding on the fresh grass and getting ready for the next calving season.
