Trip Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival Nairobi - Transfer Amboseli

You will be picked up by our driver from your Hotel Nairobi at 6 am who will transfer you to Wilson Airport for your flight to Amboseli, departing at 08:15 am. You will arrive in Amboseli in at 09:15am. You will be picked up by the camp’s driver who will drive you to the camp with a game drive en-route. Check in and later enjoy lunch, then relax before your afternoon game drive of 2 hours at 4 pm. Your stay Includes: Full Board Accommodation, all meals and drinks (excluding champagne, private cellar wines and spirits), shared and scheduled game drives, guided walking safari, sundowners and transfers to and from our designated airstrips and laundry. Game Package also includes a $35 per person Kitirua Conservancy Fee. Return later to the camp for dinner and overnight stay at Tortilis Camp. Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner.

Day 2 Amboseli National Park - Tortilis Camp

Full day with Morning and afternoon game drives to view wildlife against the backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The park offers a wide variety of wildlife but the principal attraction is its vast herds of elephant within the park. The bull elephants here have some of the largest tusks in Kenya. Other game includes: zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala, leopard, caracal and serval cat. The park boasts a rich bird life such as ibis, egret, avocet, common and saddle-billed stork, secretary bird, heron, vultures, ducks, and geese. Your stay Includes: Full Board Accommodation, all meals and drinks (excluding champagne, private cellar wines and spirits), shared and scheduled game drives, guided walking safari, sundowners and transfers to and from our designated airstrips and laundry. Day 3 Masai Mara Game Reserve - Sand River Mara Camp

Transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Nairobi Wilson departing at approx. 08:35hours to arrive approx. 09:40hours. To connect to your Mara flight that departs at 10:00Hours and arrive Mara at 11:00Hours. Met on arrival in Masai Mara and be transferred in Camp’s shared vehicle to your Camp. Rest of the programme will be as per the schedule of the Camp. The Mara will never disappoint. The animal encounters - often so close you hardly dare breathe - are just too good. But at Elewana Sand River Masai Mara, it goes above and beyond. You'll feel a little bit movie star at this opulent 1920s-style camp, with its dark wood, draped four-posters and antique furnishings adding bygone glamour to the bush. Even better is the camp's location, on the banks of the serene Sand River: you might spot herds of ungulates crossing from the comfort of your own verandah. Day 4 Masai Mara Game Reserve -Sand River Mara Camp

Another early start this morning with a shared game drive arriving at your secluded bush breakfast. Enjoy game viewing as you make your way back to the camp for time at leisure and lunch. In the afternoon, head out on your final game drive in hopes of that extra special sighting, followed by sundowners in the bush. This evening, dine under the stars before overnighting at the camp. Stay Includes: Full Board Accommodation, all meals and drinks (excluding champagne, private cellar wines and spirits), shared and scheduled game drives, guided walking safari, sundowners and transfers to and from our designated airstrips and laundry. Day 5 Serengeti National Park - Serengeti Pioneer Camp

After breakfast this morning you will be transferred to the Airstrip at 1130hrs where you will fly Migori arriving at 1200hrs. Upon arrival at Migori you will have a 45-minute road transfer to Isebania Immigrations and customs office where you will clear with the Immigration officials. Enjoy picnic lunch boxes enroute. At 1430hrs you will depart from Tarime airstrip arriving Serengeti~ Grumeti airstrip at 1610hrs where your Tanzania guides will be eagerly waiting for you. You will be transferred to Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp with a game viewing en route. Both Camps provide exceptional accommodations and are located close to the migratory path of the Wildebeest Migration. However, each Camp benefits from resident wildlife - all-year round. Enjoy full day game drives, bush luncheons and dinners as well as evenings under the stars at the Camps. You will spend the next 2 nights in a luxurious safari tent, on all- inclusive basis (includes all meals, drinks (Your stay Includes premium drinks excluded), laundry service, transfers, game drives and scheduled activities)." Day 6-7 Serengeti National Park - Serengeti Pioneer Camp

After breakfast, enjoy a full day’s game driving (meals taken in true safari style ‘in the bush’) in the vast and sensational Serengeti, which covers 14,763 sq km of endlessly rolling savannah. Venue for ‘the greatest wildlife shows on Earth’, the annual migration of over one million wildebeest, the park is also renowned for its lions, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes and plains game. Day 8 Fly Manyara, Transfer the Manor at Ngorongoro

This morning you will be transferred to Sasakwa Airstrip where you will fly Manyara airstrip on Coastal Aviation departing Sasakwa at 1030hrs to arrive Manyara airstrip at 1150hrs. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the beautiful Lake Manyara, a shallow alkaline lake that shimmers in a cleft in the Great Rift Valley. Enjoy lunch and check in at your lodge. Then later enjoy an afternoon game viewing in Lake Manyara National Park famous for its tree climbing lions. You’ll see plenty of baboons and elephants in the park’s thick evergreen forest, and watch for the tree climbing lions that have become famous throughout Africa. Thanks to the proximity of lake, forest and rock walls, the birdlife will also tease out your inner birder – don’t forget your binoculars. (Your stay includes all meals, drinks (premium drinks excluded), laundry service, transfers, game drives and scheduled activities). Day 9 Ngorongoro Crater - The Manor at Ngorongoro

After breakfast, an Elewana vehicle will drive you down the crater for a full day of exploration of the Ngorongoro Crater. A picnic hamper lunch will be served on the crater floor. After lunch, you will explore more of the crater before heading back to the Manor for SPA, also you will get a chance to visit Oldupai Gorge Museum there is where the first Mankind (Homo Habilis) remains were found, you will later head to the lodge,At sunset arrival at your accommodation inside the Ngorongoro conservation area. Evening cocktails, (Your stay includes all meals, drinks (premium drinks excluded), laundry service, transfers, game drives and scheduled activities). Dinner and overnight at The Manor at Ngorongoro. Day 10 Transfer Arusha, Depart

Watch a spectacular sunrise whilst staying at The Manor at Ngorongoro or stretch your legs on a game walk. Return back to camp for lunch and enjoy your final game drive enroute to the Airstrip. Depart for your flight back to Arusha. You will be transferred to Arusha Coffee Lodge to freshen up, depending on your outbound flight details, enjoy the use of a dayroom and then you will be chauffeured to Kilimanjaro Airport. Note: Day room is not included in the price. From there, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight departure. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch. End of our services.

January

The herds are moving into the southern plains of the Serengeti, around Ndutu, Kusini, and Naabi. The short grasses here are rich in nutrients, preparing the females for calving.

February

This is the peak calving month. Hundreds of thousands of wildebeest calves are born, often within a few weeks of each other. This spectacle attracts a high concentration of predators, making it an excellent time for predator-prey sightings.

March

The calves are a few weeks old and growing quickly. The herds begin to spread out as they continue to graze on the southern plains, preparing for the long journey north.

April

The long rains begin, prompting the herds to start their movement northwest. They form long columns as they begin their trek through the central Serengeti.

May

The migration gathers momentum, with vast columns of wildebeest stretching for miles. The herds congregate in the Western Corridor, and the mating season, or "the rut," begins.

June

The dry season starts, and the wildebeest face their first major challenge: the Grumeti River. Thousands of animals must cross this crocodile-infested river, creating dramatic and intense encounters.

July

The herds continue their journey north, with many arriving in the northern Serengeti. The Grumeti River crossings are in full swing, and some of the first herds may begin to cross the even more treacherous Mara River.

August

This is one of the best months to witness the famous Mara River crossings. The herds are spread out across the northern Serengeti and the Maasai Mara, making multiple crossings back and forth over the river in search of greener pastures.

September

The river crossings continue, though the intensity may decrease. Large numbers of wildebeest are now grazing in the fertile plains of the Maasai Mara in Kenya.

October

As the dry season approaches its climax, the wildebeest start to slowly move back into the Serengeti from the Maasai Mara, heading east and south.

November

The short rains begin, signaling the herds to make a decisive move south towards the replenished plains of the eastern Serengeti. They make their way through the Lobo and Loliondo areas.

December

The wildebeest arrive back on the short-grass plains of the southern Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. They are widely dispersed, feeding on the fresh grass and getting ready for the next calving season.
